30th Annual Films from Iran Festival

November - December 2022

MFAH Films hosted the 30th Films from Iran Festival, the longest-running Iranian film festival in the U.S., featuring actress Shohreh Aghdashloo for a special screening. The event took place shortly after the death of Mahsa Amini, amidst ongoing protests in Iran. Inspired by these circumstances, I drew from 'khorshed khanoom,' a common motif in Iranian folk art representing the sun as a woman, symbolizing the strength and resilience of Iranian women and femmes.

Lotería at MFAH Fall Festival

Led a guerrilla marketing campaign for the MFAH Fall Festival 2023, aimed at engaging Houston’s Latinx community. Collaborating with the Graphics and Learning & Interpretation departments, I developed a Lotería-themed scavenger hunt, inspired by pieces from the museum’s permanent collection, in partnership with HEB. The event attracted 1,300 visitors and increased gallery attendance by 40%. Its success led to the addition of Lotería Game Nights as a regular feature in the museum’s programming.

Art of Islamic Worlds

October - November 2023

In celebration of the expansion of the Art of Islamic Worlds Gallery, the MFAH and HCC hosted a student fashion show inspired by artworks from the collection. For the event graphics, we drew inspiration from the intricate geometric patterns and rich blues commonly found in Islamic art.

Late Fridays at MFAH

The MFAH extended its Friday hours, inviting visitors to unwind with art, happy hour, and vibrant programming. Faced with challenges in art direction, I took the initiative to design a graphic inspired by the colors and geometry of Piet Mondrian, capturing the lively atmosphere of a Friday night.
