THE MUSEUM OF FINE ARTS, HOUSTON

About the MFAH

The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, one of Texas’s oldest art museums, is celebrating 100 years of art. The museum showcases a diverse range of art, reflecting Houston's rich cultural tapestry, from classical Impressionist works to Latin American modern & contemporary art, Islamic art, and more.

One of the Largest Art Museums in the U.S

What started on a modest triangle of land has grown into a 14-acre main campus, featuring three gallery buildings, two house museums, gardens, art schools, an artist residency program, and Michelin-star chef eateries.

Art as Diverse as the City of Houston

The Museum is now a place for all people, truly reflecting the various communities of the most diverse city in the United States. From an initial collection of 60 works, the MFAH now holds over 80,000 pieces, with an encyclopedic collection spanning 5,000 years and six continents.

 20th Most-Visited Museum in the U.S.

The MFAH welcomes nearly a million visitors each year, placing it ahead of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston (MFAB) and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA).
